Make your engagement session yours

Engagement sessions don’t have to look one specific way. You don’t have to stand in a field or pose in a park if that’s not you. Your session should feel like you, whether that means dressed up downtown, barefoot on the beach, or, like Tara and TJ, sailing along the coast with champagne in hand.

They chose to do their photos out on the water with Windward Sailing in Fernandina Beach, and it fit them perfectly. The wind, the open sky, the slower pace. It gave space for natural moments without feeling overly posed. They brought two outfits, shared a bottle of champagne, and ended the night with pizza from Moon River. It was simple, personal, and honest to who they are.

So if you’ve been trying to figure out what your engagement session should look like, maybe forget the should. Start with what sounds fun, what feels like home, what you’ll actually enjoy. That’s where the best photos come from anyway.
